Well, let me tell ya ’bout this chunky rose quartz necklace. I ain’t no fancy jewelry expert, mind you, but I know what I like. And this here necklace, it’s somethin’ else.
First off, it’s got these big, ol’ stones. They ain’t no tiny little things you can barely see. These are chunky, like the name says. I like ’em that way. Feels like you’re wearin’ somethin’ substantial, ya know? Not like those flimsy things that feel like they’ll break if you breathe on ’em wrong.
Now, the color. It’s this pretty pink. Not a bright, shoutin’ pink, but a soft, gentle kinda pink. Like a baby’s blanket, or maybe them roses that grow by the fence in the summertime. The fella at the store, he called it “rose quartz,” fancy name, huh? He said some of it is light pink and some of it is dark pink. I say it’s just a nice, purdy pink, and that’s good enough for me.
- It’s a good size, not too small, not too big.
- The color is just right, not too loud, not too pale.
- And it feels good and heavy around my neck.
I wore it to church last Sunday, and everyone was askin’ about it. Said it looked “real nice” on me. Even that ol’ biddy, Martha, she had to say somethin’ nice, and that’s sayin’ somethin’, let me tell ya. She’s usually got somethin’ sour to say about everyone.
They asked me where I got it, and I told ’em down at the new shop on Main Street. The one that opened up next to the bakery. You know, the one with all the sparkly things in the window? Yeah, that’s the one. They got all sorts of jewelry in there, but this chunky rose quartz necklace, it caught my eye right away.
The fella at the shop, he was talkin’ about how these stones are supposed to be special. Said they bring love and good vibes, or somethin’ like that. I don’t know about all that hocus pocus, but I do know I feel good when I wear it. Maybe it’s the weight of it, or maybe it’s the pretty color, or maybe it’s just ’cause it’s somethin’ new and nice. Whatever it is, I ain’t complainin’. He also said that real rose quartz is found in pegmatites, well what that is I have no clue, sounds like something they put in a pie maybe?
He also showed me some other rose quartz, some that was all bumpy and some real smooth. He said look at the shape and the outside and that’s how you know if it’s real. Real ones got dents and scratches and the fake ones don’t. Well I don’t know nothing about that, I just pick what looks purdy. This one does have some lines in it I guess. It ain’t perfect, and that’s okay by me. Perfect is boring, if you ask me.
I’ve had other necklaces before, but none of ’em felt like this. They were either too small, too light, or too cheap lookin’. This one, it’s just right. It’s got some heft to it, you know? You can feel it when you’re wearin’ it. And I like that. Makes you feel like you got somethin’ worth wearin’. He said the real valuable ones are dark pink and don’t have much stuff inside them, well I guess mine ain’t that valuable then, because it’s kind of light pink and it has those white lines he was talking about.
This chunky rose quartz necklace, it ain’t just a piece of jewelry to me. It’s like a little bit of happiness I can wear around my neck. It makes me feel good, and that’s all that matters. And if it happens to bring a little love and good vibes along with it, well, that’s just a bonus, ain’t it?
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ pretty and substantial, somethin’ that’ll make you feel good, I reckon you should get yourself a chunky rose quartz necklace. You won’t regret it. Just make sure you get one with stones big enough to see, and a color that makes you smile. That’s the important part.
And don’t let anyone tell you it ain’t worth it. If it makes you happy, then it’s worth every penny. That’s what I say, anyway. And I ain’t no fool, even if I do talk like one.
